What a rating is

Two numbers sit behind every star rating: the average and the number of ratings it is the average of. A store page prints both. They are read together here because an average of a few ratings and an average of many are written the same way.

MetaTrader 4 — App Store

The page shows 4.7 stars from 6,412 ratings in the India storefront. Split by star: five stars 5,297 (83%), four 811 (13%), three 147 (2%), two 40 (1%), one 117 (2%). Four and five stars together are 95% of the 6,412 ratings split. At this count one added rating moves the average by at most 0.00078 of a star.

MetaTrader 5 — App Store

The page shows 4.8 stars from 44,675 ratings in the India storefront. Split by star: five stars 38,109 (85%), four 4,690 (10%), three 962 (2%), two 283 (1%), one 631 (1%). Four and five stars together are 96% of the 44,675 ratings split. At this count one added rating moves the average by at most 0.00011 of a star.

Reading the split

Read the two outer bars first, then the middle ones; the middle three say how many people were neither delighted nor unhappy.

Where two rows differ, the table shows both and the text does not weigh them. They are different pages read on the same day.

How much weight a count carries

The largest change one more rating can make to an average is 5 divided by the count: MetaTrader 4: 0.0008; MetaTrader 5: 0.0001. The smaller that number, the steadier the average.

What this page leaves out

Reviews are people's own writing, with their names, and a handful picked by a store's ordering is not a sample. They are left out; the average, the count and the five bars are the part that can be recomputed.

Listings that did not answer

Not every address read answered with a page. In the India view, the Google Play address for net.metaquotes.metatrader4 (answer: 404); the Google Play address for net.metaquotes.metatrader5 (answer: 404). A listing that does not answer is reported as not found in that view and is left out of the tables of figures; it says nothing about whether the app exists in another country or on another store.

What this page does not cover

Only one family of facts is read here; Requirements, Versions, Cost lines and Data declarations have their own pages. The ledger also leaves out anything behind a login: identity checks, funding screens and the order ticket.

Reader questions

Before you tap install

Is a higher rating better?

Not without the count. The same average rests on very different numbers of ratings.

Why are some figures printed twice?

A Google Play page prints a rating in its header and again in its ratings block, and the two can differ; both are shown.

Does the site show reviews?

No. They are other people's words.

Will the figures change?

Yes; a rating is a moving number, which is why each table carries its reading date.

The trading account

A store page is not an account

What these pages read is the store's side: the listing. Opening a live account is a separate step with the broker, with identity checks and rules about sending money abroad that sit outside any app. Read the broker page before you decide, and do not trade with money you cannot afford to lose.
